Attendance
New Woodlands School pupils’ attendance is monitored daily by the school Attendance Officer. A Truancy Call system is used to alert parents of pupils absence on a daily basis. “Follow up” phone calls are made by the Attendance Officer if there is no response to Truancy Call from parents/carers.
If a student is absent from school and there is no communication from parent(s)/carer(s) then letters are sent from the schools Attendance Officer. Home visits are also made by LA Attendance & Welfare Officer.
Weekly meetings take place to discuss individual cases, review overall whole school attendance and ensure actions and interventions take place when required, in line with Lewisham protocol.
