KS3 visited Lewisham Music Club to learn about Music Tech and production.
JG went to Lewisham music hub and walked through the park. They have really benefited from having previous sessions and are now able to be much more independent when making and sharing their music. Thank you to Joy who taught us how to use Logic Pro today at the hub.
G, year 7:
‘We went to Lewisham Music and learned how to use Logic and made beat. We were singing and rapping and then on the way back to school, we had a race to get an ice-cream.
To be fair, it was a great day.
A year 7:
Last Thursday we went to Lewisham Music. We made great beats on Logic. Some people could rap to their beats, which was amazing.
I hope we can visit there again.
A Year 9 pupil won the Jack Petchy Award & treated his class to the cinema! The rest of the money was used to buy art equipment for our school.
JG went to Borough Market to see and smell all the exotic fruits around the world! They also had fun relaxing by the River Thames

The year 7 classes recently visited the Imperial War Museum in London.
The children wandered through the museum and looked at preserved artefacts, photographs, and heard stories from survivors, gaining a true sense of what it was like to be involved in and live through wartime.
museum’s vast collections encompassed a wealth of objects – from uniforms to photographs, vehicles to films, weapons to works of art – each with a story to tell.

It was great see so many parents come to the year 9 Career’s and next steps to Adulthood and KS4 event. Thanks to George from the Lewisham Project for explain the role and the great offer the children will get in year 10 and to Subject Leaders for meeting all parents.
Year 9s attended The Lewisham Post-16 Opportunities Event which took place on Tuesday 28th March 2023 at the Civic Suite, Catford.
The aim of the event was to support schools and providers with their statutory duty to secure independent careers guidance for all year 9-13 learners.
The event ensured careers guidance is presented in an impartial manner and promotes information on the range of education or training options, including apprenticeships / traineeships and other vocational pathways.
Year 9 said "I found it interesting, it helped me making life choices, ...it helped me what I wanted to do with my life....it helped me understand what I was getting into"
To extend their learning in Judaism, JG participated in a workshop led by Mr Gerald Rose from the local Synagogue in Catford.
The focus of the session was to look at where Jews celebrate their faith and love for God. JG were excellent throughout the session and thought that the lecture was very informative.
We look forward to seeing Mr Rose again.
This year's NWS chess tournament proved to be a huge success! Our second ever annual tournament featured high-quality games across secondary. Many of our pupils are new to chess, and they developed both tactical skills and a love for the game. Well done to all who took part, we look forward to an even more skillful tournament next year.
