KS3 students enjoyed a fabulous Music Tech session at school with Joshua Oladipo from Lewisham Music. They learned how to use our new music software, iCharanga VIP which enables all students to access the software at home as it is through the cloud. The children are looking forward to the next session with Joshua in December.
As part of our Black History Month celebrations the KS3&4 pupils took part in a Capoeira workshop.
Capoeira is best described not as a dance but as a sport in which the participants historically, perform aerial somersaults, and pass within a hairsbreadth of each other and originated in Brazil. The pupils had a great time and many thanks to Professor Ken for his great delivery.
It was so lovely to see our Year 11 Class 21 pick up their results. There were lots of smiles and a few tears as they said goodbye to their form tutor and TA.
We are very proud of them and wish then all the luck on their journey to College.
After an amazing 5 years with this fantastic bunch of Young People we finished today with an Art exhibition and pizza making celebration. It was fabulous to see the parents of the children and to chat about how much progress they have made. It was especially lovely to see Joanna Gent our new Governor for the school was able to attend.
A big thank you to Ms Gallant for the Pizza making, Ms Glover for the Art exhibition and Mr Hatzidakis for supervising the pizza oven.
We wish them all the luck in the world and look forward to results day on August 12th
We had a fantastic afternoon with the cohort of Year 7 2021. Parents and children arrived for a Tea party hosted by Sophie our Year 11 leaver. Sophie made some beautiful cupcakes and the year 6s had great fun decorating them.
After decorating cakes children and parents were able to go to Science where they potted a lovely plant to take home and watch grow over the next 5 years.
The last activity was a circuit to beat the lava in PE which caused many children falling with big smiles on their faces.
Looking forward to September now
The Nationwide came in to school last week to talk to the students about banking and online safety. SB met them in the food room and said they would make them some lemon drizzle cakes. All forur branch managers came back for their cakes and had a photo taken.
So proud of our Year Class 21 cohort who despite the Pandemic worked tirelessly under difficult conditions. Sophie showing off her New woodlands Hoody today
We are incredibly proud of Jessie, who has come 2nd out of hundreds of applicants, for her design for the Brockley Max Festival programme!
The judges were particularly impressed with Jessie's creativity and how inclusive the design is, as she depicts a person with vitiligo ( a condition in which the skin loses its pigment cells).
Well done Jessie! This is an amazing achievement and will look super in your Art portfolio!
